Another day of Kimono making

So, I finished the first bit of my kimono costume, the dickey body. Interesting things that occurred while doing it:

1] sewing the neck band to the waist band by accident *huge face palm*

2] trying out iron on interfacing for the first time, and it went really well! it all went on nice and even and no creases, it just took a little time to sit and iron it on. so I'm really happy with that, and I know I can use it in the future.

3] I sew the snap fastener on backwards twice *2nd major face palm* I need to be more careful with those.

4] I really didn't put in enough ease around the waist, but I was probably more concerned with it fitting round the bust (which it does wonderfully) . I added an extra bit of material in, so now it fits. In future must be careful with this, or just always add extra. it really is a lot easier to take in than let out.

5] using polyfiller pillow fiber stuff for the padding in the dickey, which also seems to have gone quite well.

Now, I just need to iron it a little to straighten it out. Then start on the next bit, the kimono itself, which is supposedly quite easy to make. (so they say....people)

ah other things. nearly finished vampire: the masquerade bloodlines again. have also restarted a save on super Mario galaxy which is quite fun. done some more drawing. want to do some cooking now that the water seems better (i.e. consistently hot) aaand....my knee is doing okay. it has aaaahs and pain and twinges but its better. i can walk around the house without crutches now, but not really outside for a lot.

My boy friend has been worrying about it, saying I lean on it too heavily. I try not to walk on it too much at all anyway. He's lovely.

Um, thank you for the favourite, although it's probably a conflict of interest!
